definition of criterias regarding ...

• “strong DP” = more than 10 % more than the GOP
• “weak DP” = more than 7 % more than the GOP
• “barely DP” = more than 3 % more than the GOP

• “to close to call, esp. in polls” = means less than 3% more for the DP and less than 3% more for the GOP => SWING STATE

• “barely GOP” = more than 3 % more than the DP
• “weak GOP” = more than 7 % more than the DP
• “strong GOP” = more than 10 % more than the DP

So called "swing states" ("to close to decide") are those states where the difference between the to big parties (DP/GOP) is less than 3%.
